Ho Chi Minh City or Saigon ? Here is why it has 2 names.
Saigon, or Sài Gòn in Vietnamese, was merged with the surrounding province in 1976 and renamed Ho Chi Minh City to celebrate the reunification of north and south at the end of the Vietnam War. The city’s namesake comes from Ho Chi Minh, the communist revolutionary leader who is credited with uniting the country.
Ho Chi Minh is a beautiful, busy city. A city that we found so friendly. We never got any hassle and could roam the streets as much as we wanted.
It has some of the best food I have ever had, i have totally fallen in love with Vietnamese food. Make sure you try the Local restaurants the food is so amazing, and far more authentic than the hotels
