The Big 5 Spotting

When We Spotted The Big 5

We were so lucky whilst on our safari to the Sabi Sands to manage to see all of the Big 5. For those of you not familiar with these sightings its Leopard, Lion, Buffalo, Elephant and Rhino. The term came from big-game hunters, and refers to the five most difficult animals in Africa to hunt on foot.

Below here is our gallery of our spotting’s from our safari trip. I think they are all just amazing.

To see these in the wild is a dream come true to see them in there own habitat and wander around commanding there areas is just unreal. It certainly was a once in a lifetime experience.

Want to see more, well never fear because we have written a specific post on our time in the Sabi and Sands, our safari and our stay in the amazing Savanna Private Game Reserve. For more to read this check out the link below.

Great to be able to tick them all of the list. I don’t approve of the term coming from hunters but it’s an achievement to see and photo them all.

    1. Yes I agree wouldn’t be a fan of the term either or the hunting aspect at all but to see them in the wild and in there own habitat was a magical experience.

Especially the leopard to see it roaming around marking its territory and commanding its area was fascinating

  2. These are such beautiful animals – I’m so jealous that you got to see them in real life!

    All the best, Michelle (michellesclutterbox.com)
