Witches Falls Tamborine Mountain

Witches Falls

Witches Falls is located at the top of Tamborine Mountain in the Gold Coast Hinterland.

A lush green area set right in the heart of the rainforest with a walk to the most magnificent waterfall.

The Walking Track

The walking track to the Falls is approximately 3.1 km for the loop or there is a shorter version of 1.5km which takes you straight to the lookout.

The Circuit

The track I wouldn’t call it crazy steep but some element of fitness would be handy as the are a few large steps.

The walk is through lush rainforest and so peaceful just yourselves and the noises from the birds and wildlife.

I would allow 1 1/4 hour for loop to walk down, take your photos and back up again.

Tip: Just before the Falls is a beautiful stream and bridge that feeds the falls this is a great spot to stop off for a break and get some good photos

The falls

The Falls are beautiful the view is only from the side but you still see enough. And then beautiful views out into the rainforest and beyond

There is a little viewing platform for you to take photos and pose.

As you can see from the photo above and video below we went on a very dry week and the waterfall didn’t have much water. But was still very impressive.

Nearby is the Witches Falls Winery and only a couple of minutes drive to North Tamborine, where there is a host of boutique shops, cafes and restaurants.

Also nearby is Curtis Falls another beautiful water on Tamborine Mountain and well worth the walk and look

We are adventure seekers who love to explore the world. So one day, we decided to write about it here is our story so far

  1. These look like beautiful places to hike and just relax. Hopefully we’ll be able to get out of the U.S. in the not too distant future to explore the world again. Had to cancel an Austria/Dolomites fall trip due to COVID but at least we’re healthy. Stay well down under and thanks for some really nice writing and cool places that I’ve never heard of before.
