Location
Located right in the heart of the town of Victoria Falls less than 2km to the falls itself. located in the 5 star Ilala Lodge hotel, the Palm restaurant is a perfect setting in a beautiful location
The Restaurant
The Palm restaurant Victoria Falls is a beautiful setting with the big tables out on the decking or enclosed in the restaurant, suiting which ever preference you desire. White table cloths and candlelit table really sets a fantastic scene.
Space is guaranteed giving a sense of intimacy and somewhat private.
We certainly opted for the decking on each visit. This was not a hard decision with the sound of mother nature and the crashing falls in the background.
Did you Know
The Palms restaurant and the hotel Ilala Lodge are the closet to Victoria Falls itself
Our Visit
As I mentioned we chose to dine outside, we were sat and had the menu explained to us. The waiter was fantastic and was never in a rush took his time to explain and make the right choices we wanted.

We went 3 courses and immediately and without doubting it we both went with the Springbok Samosa. Having wanted to try some African meats we thoght this would be a great introduction. The meat was so tender and tasty and crisp pastry made this a beautiful dish.
For the main event I chose for myself Warthog done 2 ways slow cooked belly and the loin. I love pork so was intrigued by the Warthog and the gamier flavour of the Warthog only enhanced it.

Michelle chose the Falafels served with Marinated vegetables, salsa and fresh tzatziki, which was equally as good as a result I had to taste it to. The falafels very very moist, which is important as they came sometimes tend to dry out.
For the final course we both went for the chocolate tart with carmelised popcorn which was beautiful and was pleasantly surprised how light the chocolate tart was.

Some close calls were made on choices and a few to mention before choosing the Warthog was Crocodile Frikadelle and Blesbok Shank. But was more than happy with the choice i made
We drank local Pinotage which was light and very fruity and so simple to drink. A great cocktail menu was on display. We sampled espresso martinis and Old Fashioned, and as the food were at the highest quality.
Summary
All in all a fine and relaxed setting for a great dinner, offering great food, drink and service. The sounds of one of the wanders of the world Victoria Falls just tops off this great restaurant. We would certainly recommend to anyone.

Would love to try some of those exotic meats. And seems impossible to beat the location of this restaurant.
