Built at the back of a small precinct in Mermaid Beach lies Bonita Bonita, undoubtedly one of the best Mexican restaurants on the Gold Coast. A renowned place for it flavorsome food and sticking to native Mexican ways.
With its dark lights, candles and Mexican décor brings this restaurant to life, the sound of authentic Mexican music in the background all sets the scene for this unique experience.
The addition of a bar on the side by the name of Bon Bon and an impressive back bar of over 50 tequilas all adds the this authenticity of this venue.

As mentioned Bonita Bonita on the Gold Coast is located in a small preciect in Mermaid Beach, it lies just along the Gold Coast Highway. Close to the trendy suburbs of Palm Beach and Burleigh Heads and a short 3 minute ride to Broadbeach and 10 minutes to Surfers Paradise.

The Food
Bringing modern Mexican dining to new heights, pack up your faijitas you wont find them here. Cali style tacos, taquintos, croquettes and chimichangas are all on and pack full of flavour. Can personally recommend the homemade guacamole, pescado (fish) and achiote chicken tacos are firm favourites with us. All locally sourced where possible giving fresh Mexican produce.
An impressive banquet menu venue is available for tables 8 and over and at $40 a head for 7 courses and an opportunity to try a whole range of food is great.
Once you finished your savoury fair, a must is the Raspberry BonBon dessert with Coconut ice cream, Malibu, Chambord, raspberry and chilli coulis ,shredded coconut, fresh raspberries and whipped cream..

The banquet menu sounds very good value. Don’t think I’ve ever heard of Chimichangas apart from one of your other posts, but they look rather lovely.
This sounds like a total must-try and for a banquet menu with seven courses is very cheap! Really need to add to my travelling list the Gold Coast! x
