The Best Doolin Accommodation

Finding the best Doolin Accommodation

Whilst planning a trip to the Cliffs Of Moher we had heard that Doolin would be the most pleasant place to stay, a picturesque little spot in the heart of this region. This was our start to look for accommodation and especially the Airbnb stays in Doolin.

We searched through Airbnb stays in doolin and came across this perfect little apartment only a short drive from both Doolin and the Cliffs of Moher itself.

Trish’s appartment

We found Trish’s Airbnb apartment named Heatherfield Mews as mentioned only 2 minute drive from Doolin. The opening picture with the picture window from the kitchen looking out had our attention.

This great Doolin accommodation

Kitchen, lounge and Dining

The Kitchen, lounge and Dining area were all very modern, new and well presented.

The kitchen was well equipped with all the equipment you need. Oven, fridge, toaster and kettle etc all available for you to use. As well as all utensils, cutlery and crockery you could think of.

The lounge area was comfy and came with a large TV.

A breakfast style high seated table was on the end of the kitchen, which would be my own preference of seating. Add to that it gave some height to see out the window and enjoy some views of the Wild Atlantic Way whilst you enjoy breakfast.

The rooms

The apartment has 2 bedrooms upstairs a room with 2 beds with window view. Comfy beds and shelfing and plenty of space for long stays. This bedroom has its own bathroom across the landing also (the lighting in here is so relaxing)

The downstairs bedroom, the main bedroom has the most comfortable double bed and again opposite the hall has its own bathroom.

Bedding s and linens throughout were great quality and very clean.

Picture window

One of the highlights of this apartment is the big picture window in the kitchen area with unbelievable elevated views out over the coast and the Wild Atlantic Way. (picture below doesn’t do it justice)

And finally its warm and cosy

With its location we feared a little apartment may suffer from being a bit cold but it certainly wasn’t the heating was set to come on at the right times and the apartment was always cosy.

Local attractions

This location is a perfect base for such trips like seeing the Cliffs of Moher, Doonagore Castle, Doolin Caves or explore many of the great traditional Irsih pubs.

Our stay here coincided with a family road trip we were on from Roscommon, you can check it out Here

Wild Atlantic Way

With this stay being on the Wild Atlantic Way, Ireland’s best drive. We have had a few other trips along this route like our stay n Clifden, where we visited such places like Clifden Castle and hiked Diamond Hill. Further up the coast we have visited the historical town of Killala also which was certainly another highlight.

The entrance

The accommodation is located a short 10 minutes from Navan, County Meath. Also a small 40 minute drive in to the center of Dublin.

Bective Stud Farm

Bective Stud History

The Bective Stud is an impressive 180-acre estate situated in Bective, Co Meath. The Stud Farm was built in 2016 and since is ever growing.

The estate is also home to the  Bective House which was built in 1820 sits on the other side of the estate to the stud farm.

The Stud Farm at Bective is as impressive a facility as you could find. With  46 stables up and running. There is a three-furlong perfect circle gallop, a horse walker, a 60m x 40m arena and lunge ring. EIght winter sand paddocks and 10 grass paddocks. Plans for expansion of all these are expected.

Plans are also in progress to turn the Bective House into a hotel and spa. To add to there impressive Airbnb stays with the grounds, and one of the best in Navan.

The Apartments

Converted Stables

We drove into part of the stud farm where the  old horse stables lied. These stables have been transformed, and been made into immaculate appointed apartments.

The converted stables

We had the end apartment, which was a two bedroom, two floor apartment with views out over the stud farm.

Our accommodation

Inside The Bective Stud Accommodation

As we entered the accommodation we couldn’t believe what we had stumbled apon.

We walked into a kitchen, dining and lounge area. The finishes and furnishings were just top quality, almost show home like.

The kitchen was well equipped with all your cooking needs, no need to bring anything other than the food itself.

The Sofas were as comfy as you could possibly get, so much so you would just sink into them. And let me tell you we did after a day of exploring

The Upstairs

Wandering up the stairs you come across this bright hallway with some great artwork, which really brightened up the accommodation.

Entering the rooms, like downstairs the furnishings and features were so well finished. Very simply done with just beds and bedside tables, but with a very luxurious feel.

The beds were extremely comfortable and the rooms well heated.

The bathroom was modern and again surprisingly good quality, no expense was spared with this Airbnb.

The Outside Shared Garden

Opposite the stables we were greeted with a fantastic outside area named, Vals garden after one of the Owners. Made perfectly for entertaining, relaxing or somewhere to enjoy your morning cuppa.

The surrounding gardens were in pristine condition and so eloquently kept.

The Grounds

You are free to roam the grounds, you can see horses from the collection of Bective’s horses on show in there own fields and the workers out feeling and training them. The space the horses had to roam was phenomenal.

Horses at Bective Stud

In progress during our visit but not completed were walking tracks through the grounds of the estate and stud itself. Also in progress of being built is the Bective Stud tea rooms, which is looking to open at the end of 2021.

What’s Near By

Being so near to Navan center, you are so close to some great experiences. Such as the ruins of Bective Abbey, the renowned Hill Of Tara and also the impressive Trim Castle.

For families there is  Causey Farm, which is within 20 minutes. A petting farm, with a whole host of fun kids activities, and free ice cream for all the kids.

Causey Farm

A fine accommodation in Navan in the heart of County Meath, a stay anybody would enjoy and certainly if your interest in horses is high, its certainly worth booking up.

As mentioned great access to a whole host of places to visit. And great access if you want to be near Dublin but away from the city itself.
