Elk Espresso cafe started life in the suburb Of Broadbeach in a small building resembling a house, which if to be honest we liked the homely feel. But has since moved into bigger premises right on the end of the Oasis Shopping Centre in the middle of Broadbeach. Only a stones through from the beach has made this ever popular cafe even better.

Known for it’s consistency and quality food and coffee, Elk Broadbeach has been a staple on the Gold Coast for many years. In 2020 Elk was voted in the Top 50 cafes in Queensland by the Courier Mail. With the thriving café scene in Australia that is no mean feat.

Location

Located in the heart of of the town, and as mentioned in the Oasis Shopping Centre on the Old Burleigh Road , only a stones throw away from the beach which is perfect for picking up ample foot traffic.

With only a 5 minute drive from Surfers Paradise and 30 minutes from Coolongatta.

The Food

The food at Elk is one of the best around and certainly the best breakfast spot Broadbeach has to offer and Broadbeach cafes are plentiful. I have always said it’s one of the only places I have regularly eaten at and its always exactly the same whatever time and whenever we visit, the consistency is unbelievable.

The menu at Elk has a wide range with classics with twists, like potato hash, breakfast burgers with the addition of jalepenos and smoked bacon an eggs. Its worth Noting that the poached eggs are always perfectly cooked.

Goodness green bowls which from time to time even feature homemade lebnah and banana and maple panna cotta give a different option and something a little different and not found on most menus.

Buttermilk chicken and peach cobblers for the adventurous for those really looking for complete change. And i can concur the buttermilk chicken is both delicious and flavorsome.

Coffees, juices and sweet treats round off these meals beautiful. With perfectly brewed, silky smooth great coffee which has certainly become accustomed at Elk, a great end or start to any breakfast.
